The forward claims the Pharaohs do not have to rely purely on the AS Roma star or foreign based professionals
SC Braga striker Ahmed Mahgoub has claimed that Egypt rely not on Mohammed Salah or any foreign based pros ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Nigeria.
Coach Hector Cuper’s squad is made up of five foreign based players and 18 local based professionals [Nine players from Zamalek and Al Ahly each] with AS Roma’s Salah leading the pack.
And Mahgoub believes the Pharaohs are more than just a one-man team.
The 23-year-old told Sada El-Balad Channel: “The team don’t rely on foreign-based players as Mohamed Salah, Mohamed Elneny, Mahmoud Trezeguet, Amr Warda and me; the team consists of 11 players.”
“Players who play for the national team make every effort to represent their country in an honorable way.”
The striker who boasts of 13 goals this season for his Portuguese outfit also revealed that the Afcon qualifiers against Nigeria would be tough, but assured that his side would do their best to get positive results.
